About Us

“I know two amazing women in Johannesburg, one a mother, and the other a grandmother, who sew beautifully, yet both hold full time jobs as domestic workers. My initial objective in creating the first designs was to find enough regular orders to enable these beautiful woman to use their talent sewing full time, and not commuting for hours in city traffic to menial jobs.

I wanted to be the catalyst for them to work from home where they can nurture and provide for their families with dignity and self worth.

With this objective I have begun the Our1World journey together with them and so many more we know we will reach as we grow.

A key factor in our system is our Our1World  SEW FREE Campaign.  With every on line, and wholesale purchase, I ask that a contribution be made to buy sewing machines. Each machine will be donated to a new entrepreneur enabling him or her to start their own enterprise and support their family by following their passion.”

She lives and dreams new ideas so expect this range to expand and expand…

Our Intention

Our intention is to replicate this effort for as many other men and women as we can, in a paradigm which will enable more urban, and later, rural seamstresses and tailors to be independent providers and entrepreneurial heads of households.

We know that parents working at home or close to home can more effectively raise and protect their children and grandchildren by their everyday presence and hands on care.

We wish to follow a program of self empowerment, assisting to create many small enterprises in various communities, which are all supported by Our1World orders and marketing as we grow together.

We are constantly discovering new and exciting ways to offer skills training, design and production creativity as well as management enhancement as part of our program.
